It’s hard to believe we are already right in the middle of the holidays and in the middle of this Masonic year as well. Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukah to all!
We had a nice December meeting, the first part being an open meeting with a speaker from the Salvation Army, Maj. Ward Matthews. Preceding that, we had a feast co-hosted by the Order of the Eastern Star, who did a great job decorating the dining area for the season.
We recently got all new dining room tables and chairs to cap off the remodeling. Thanks to R:.W:. Dibrell for spearheading that acquisition.
MOST WORSHIPFUL MICHAEL L. WIGGINS
GRAND MASTER 2015
A seventh generation Texan, Grand Master Michael L. Wiggins was born on October 5, 1956, in Liberty, Texas. He is the oldest child of Dempsey and Glenda Reid Wiggins. All four of his grandparents were descendants of settlers coming to Texas prior to statehood. The earliest, William Ponton, arrived with his family in DeWitt Colony on December 17, 1829, from Boonesville, Missouri. William was later killed by Comanches in 1834. Grand Master Wiggins is quick to point out that while one ancestor was killed by Comanches, another ancestor was related to the last Comanche chief, Quanah Parker.
